Little Veggie Patch Co - Heirloom Seeds - Cucumber 'Poinsett'

Poinsett is a very disease resistant variety that produces a large amount of smooth, dark green skinned fruit that typically grow to 20cm in length. The perfect 'slicing' cucumber, enjoyed best with a drizzle of olive oil, salt and the early summer sun. Picking encourages more production, so pick liberally.

Position: Sunny spot in well-drained soil. Plant at the base of your eggplant or corn. Alternatively, consider growing the plant on a trellis to save space.

Soil: Prepare a well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Mix in compost and well-rotted animal manure a fortnight prior to planting.

Soil pH Level: 6.5 - 7.0

How to Plant: Sow the seeds directly into the directly into the patch once the soil temperature reaches approximately 18-20 degrees. Water daily for the first month and then cut back to 3 times a week, weather dependent.
